Ravindra Jadeja and Yashasvi Jaiswal helped lead the Indian cricket team to a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka Cricket XI in their warm-up match in Colombo, making the most of their opportunities to acclimatise ahead of the two-match SL vs IND Test 2026 series.
Ravindra Jadeja scored a patient 63 off 117 balls in the first innings and took four wickets over the course of the match, while Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered a quickfire 46-ball 61 in the second.
Jadeja walked in with India on 96/2 and shared a 74-run partnership with centurion Devdutt Padikkal. The veteran all-rounder hit seven boundaries during his stay and brought up his fifty with a well-timed sweep through a gap at deep backward square leg.
He eventually retired out with India on 250/5 as the visitors looked to give every member of the squad valuable time in the middle.
Jadeja had earlier made an impact with the ball, taking 2/64 in the first innings after dismissing Pasindu Sooriyabandara and Ramesh Mendis. He added another two wickets for 33 runs in the second innings.
Both of his second-innings wickets involved his Rajasthan Royals teammates Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel. Anjala Bandara edged Jadeja to Jaiswal at first slip for the first scalp, while Nipun Dhananjaya was stumped by Jurel.
Jadeja also returned to the crease during India's chase and made 22 before retiring out as he edged the visitors closer to the run chase.
Meanwhile, after missing out in the first innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal bounced back with an aggressive fifty in the second. The 24-year-old opener got off the mark with a boundary and went on to hit nine fours and two sixes.
He brought up his fifty with another four in the 15th over, before adding a further boundary and a six in the same over. Jaiswal also retired out soon after with India 100/0, having made a rapid 61 from 46 balls.
India will start the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
