Sri Lankan star leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match SL vs BAN 2025 T20 series after suffering a hamstring injury to his right leg.
The injury occurred while he was batting in the third ODI of a three-match series against Bangladesh on Tuesday.
The T20I series begins on July 10 in Pallekele, but Sri Lanka have decided not to name a replacement. Hasaranga will return to Colombo to begin rehabilitation at the High Performance Centre.
Hasaranga played a crucial role in Sri Lanka's 2-1 ODI series win, finishing as the top wicket-taker with nine scalps at an average of under 12.
He picked 4/10 in the opening ODI, followed by 3/60 and 2/35 in the next two matches. He also became the second-fastest Sri Lankan to reach 100 ODI wickets during the series.

The spinner was also a standout performer in IPL 2025, finishing as the joint-highest wicket-taker for Rajasthan Royals with 11 wickets – level with teammates Maheesh Theekshana and Jofra Archer.
With Hasaranga sidelined, Maheesh Theekshana, currently ranked No. 8 in the ICC T20I bowling charts, will lead the spin attack for the home side.
