Stakes will be high when Rajasthan Royals kick off their IPL 2026 campaign against five-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati on Monday.

The RR vs CSK IPL 2026 match on March 30 will start at 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST) and will be available to watch on live streaming and live telecast.

Beyond being the opening fixture for both sides, the contest carries an added layer of intrigue.

RRRavindra Jadeja is set for a potential face-off against his former team, while CSK’s Sanju Samson could find himself up against a side he was leading as recently as last season, adding a compelling emotional subplot to the clash.

Jadeja and Samson had switched sides following a trade deal in pre-season.

Another big storyline will beRiyan Parag’s first match as RR’s full-time captain in front of his home crowd.

Riyan Parag had previously stepped in as a stand-in skipper during Sanju Samson’s injury last season, but this clash against CSK will mark his official debut as the team’s permanent captain.

Furthermore, Kumar Sangakkara also returns to the RR head coach’s role, having guided the team to the final in the 2022 season.

Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings players

Ravindra Jadeja, Ravi Bishnoi, Donovan Ferreira and Dasun Shanaka - a last-minute replacement for the injured Sam Curran - have been the big-ticket acquisitions for RR this season.

Newly-appointed captain Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer - following up on a stellar T20 World Cup - and Jofra Archer will also hope to make a good start to the season.

All eyes will be on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after a record-debut season last year. The hard-hitting teenager has only consolidated his reputation as a rising star in Indian cricket since and was the architect of India’s U19 World Cup triumph earlier this year.

On the other hand, CSK shelled out big money for the uncapped duo of Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma at the IPL 2026 auction and there will be considerable interest in how the duo fares over the course of the season.

CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad will be without his predecessor and talisman MS Dhoni for the match but will look to the likes of Samson to fill the void both in the batting line-up and behind the wickets.
