Earlier this season, the Royals cruised to a 50-run win over the Kings in New Chandigarh, posting 205/4 on the back of key knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal (67), Sanju Samson (38) and Riyan Parag (43).
The bowling unit, led by Jofra Archer (3/25), Sandeep Sharma (2/21) and Maheesh Theekshana (2/26), bundled out Punjab for 155/9.
Heading into this reverse fixture, the Royals are coming off a one-run loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 4.
Punjab Kings’ previous fixture against the Delhi Capitals was called off and will be replayed next week. They beat Lucknow Super Giants by 37 runs in the preceding match.
