Jofra Archer marked a significant career milestone on Saturday, reaching 50 T20I wickets with a probing spell of 2/24 against Scotland in England’s Group C clash of the T20 World Cup 2026 in Kolkata.
The 30-year-old right-arm quick, who turns out for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, set the tone early at the Eden Gardens with a hostile powerplay burst.
He struck twice in his second over, removing George Munsey and Brandon McMullen with balls that climbed sharply and forced mistimed strokes.
Archer returned with 2/13 from his three powerplay overs and closed out his spell in the 17th.

Sam Curran, who will be Archer’s teammate at RR during IPL 2026, was also amongst the wickets, dismissing Michael Jones - who had raced to 33 off 20 balls - in the sixth over to leave Scotland 42/3.
Curran, the Player of the Tournament at the 2022 T20 World Cup, finished with figures of 1/33 from 3.4 overs, which included a powerplay over and two overs at the death. He also contributed with two catches.
Sam Curran is England’s fourth-highest wicket-taker in T20Is with 63 scalps in 70 matches, averaging 27.58 with an economy of 8.66. He claimed a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in Kandy last month.
