Rajasthan Royals players Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel were picked in the 16-member Indian cricket team for the upcoming one-match home Test series against Afghanistan, starting from June 6.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad on Tuesday, with the only Test of the series slated to be held at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh.
This will be the Indian team’s first Test series since losing 2-0 against South Africa towards the end of last year.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was a part of the series against South Africa and even struck a fifty in the second Test when he scored 58 off 97 balls in the first innings.
Ever since his red-ball debut in 2023, Yashasvi Jaiswal has established himself as a key player for the Indian cricket team as an opener in the format.
The stylish left-hander has scored 2511 runs in 28 matches at an average of 49.23, smashing seven hundreds and 13 fifties in the process.
Like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel was also a part of the Indian team in the series defeat to South Africa last year.
Jurel has represented India nine times in Tests, scoring 459 runs at an average of 35.30, striking one fifty and a ton along the way.
Jurel and Jaiswal are currently RR’s second and third-highest run-getters in the ongoing IPL 2026 season, having amassed 367 and 327 runs, respectively.
The wicketkeeper-batter has also hit four fifties in IPL 2026 - the most by any Royals player this season.
Following the conclusion of the one-off Test, India will face Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series.
