The 62nd edition of the prestigious zonal first-class tournament begins with two quarter-finals before culminating in a five-day final. Matches leading up to the summit clash will be four-day encounters.

West Zone are the most successful team in tournament history with 19 titles. South Zone were the last champions under the zonal format in 2023, while India A triumphed in 2024 when the format briefly shifted to inter-zonal teams.
This season, West and South, the 2023 finalists, are seeded directly into the semi-finals, while North, South, East, West, Central, and North East Zones will contest across three knockout rounds for the crown.
