Tushar Deshpande burst onto the scene during the 2015-16 Cooch Behar Trophy, claiming 21 wickets in just four matches and has not looked back since. The performances landed Deshpande a spot in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy team the same year and made his debut against Tamil Nadu. He made his List A debut in the 2018 Vijay Hazare Trophy and within a few matches, he picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in the competition's quarter-finals. The right-arm pacer’s consistency in white-ball cricket earned him a spot in the India 'B' side for the Duleep Trophy in 2019 and soon enough Delhi Capitals came calling at the IPL 2020 auction. After an uneventful stint with DC, the pacer was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He played just two matches that season but in the process, also Tushar Deshpande became the first Impact Player in IPL history. Tushar Deshpande enjoyed his breakthrough season in IPL 2023, emerging as CSK’s top pacer after Dwayne Bravo's retirement and Deepak Chahar's injury. Deshpande, with 21 wickets in 16 matches, was CSK’s top wicket-taker in their title-winning campaign. In IPL 2024, he added 17 more scalps while also excelling in domestic cricket, helping the Mumbai cricket team secure the Ranji Trophy with 15 wickets. He also scored his maiden first-class century that season. Deshpande was picked by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 auction. Tushar Deshpande’s stellar performances earned him an Indian cricket team debut against Zimbabwe in July 2024.
