Rajasthan Royals duoYashasvi Jaiswal and Tushar Deshpande have been named in the Mumbai cricket squad for their Ranji Trophy 2026-27 opener against Chandigarh, starting October 11.

The Elite Group D fixture will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from October 11 to 14.

Jaiswal, who has made 2593 runs in 83 IPL matches for the Royals, has been one of Mumbai’s most prolific batters in the red-ball game.

In first-class cricket, the left-hander has piled up 4968 runs in 53 matches at an average of 54.00, with 17 centuries and 18 fifties. His highest score in the domestic red ball game is 265.

The opener has also given a good account of himself in the Ranji Trophy and crossed the 1000-run milestone in India’s premier first-class cricket tournament last season with a century against Rajasthan.

The 24-year-old India international was last seen in action during India’s tour of Sri Lanka in August.

Tushar Deshpande, meanwhile, will give Mumbai an experienced seam option for the campaign's first assignment.

The right-arm quick has taken 134 wickets in 49 first-class matches at an average of 28.67, with best figures of 6/70. He has claimed five wickets in an innings on five occasions.

Tushar Deshpande has been with the Royals since IPL 2025 and has already picked up 13 wickets for the team.

The pacer was recently in action for India A in the two unofficial Tests against Australia A played in Puducherry. He picked up five wickets in the match in the first game to help India win. The second match was drawn.

Mumbai are record 42-time Ranji Trophy champions. Last season, Royals pacer Yudhvir Singh played a crucial role in helping Jammu and Kashmir win their maiden Ranji title.
