Yashasvi Jaiswal has been named in Time magazine’s list of the World’s Most Influential Rising Stars, released this week.
The 23-year-old Jaiswal, who represents Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, was the only cricket player among the 100 young global personalities to feature in the prestigious line-up.
“I am honoured to be recognised in the 2025 TIME100NEXT list alongside leaders shaping the future across industries. It reminds me how far I’ve come and how much further I want to go,” Jaiswal wrote on social media.
What a Time to witness! I am honoured to be recognised in the 2025 #TIME100NEXT list alongside leaders shaping the future across industries. It reminds me how far I’ve come and how much further I want to go 🙏🏻

The latest recognition comes in what has already been a landmark phase of his career. In August, he was ranked No. 1 on Wisden Cricket Monthly’s list of The Best 40 Young Players in the World, compiled by leading cricket writers worldwide.

Since his Test debut against the West Indies in 2023, Jaiswal has quickly become the backbone of India’s batting. He has amassed 2209 runs in 24 Tests at an average of 50.20, with six centuries and 12 fifties.
Yashasvi’s 1478 Test runs in 2024 alone set a new record for the most by an Indian opener in a calendar year and earned him a spot in the ICC Men's Test Team of the Year.
Equally effective in the shorter formats, Yashasvi has 723 runs from 23 T20I appearances and was part of India’s ICC T20 World Cup 2024-winning side.
In the IPL, Yashasvi has scored over 2100 runs for Rajasthan Royals, highlighted by a breakthrough 2023 season in which he struck 625 runs at a strike rate of 163.61, including the fastest fifty in IPL history off just 13 balls.
Yashasvi’s rise is made even more remarkable by his journey. Born in Uttar Pradesh, he moved to Mumbai as a teenager to pursue cricket, living in a tent at Azad Maidan and working odd jobs to support himself before being spotted by a coach who became his mentor.
He first came to prominence with a record-breaking double century in List A cricket in 2019 and as the leading run-scorer at the Under-19 World Cup in 2020.
Yashasvi is part of the ongoing India vs West Indies Test series, which got underway in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
