Yashasvi Jaiswal made his Indian Premier League debut in 2020 and it didn’t take him too long to make his mark.
In IPL 2023, Jaiswal was Rajasthan Royals’ top batter with 625 runs which included his maiden IPL century.
However, Jaiswal’s first fifty in the tournament came against the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. His innings of 50 came in just 21 balls at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
The left-handed Jaiswal improved his personal best against the Punjab Kings in IPL 2022, scoring 68 at the Wankhede Stadium. In IPL 2023, he went up to 77 against CSK at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. In his next match, three days later, he scored his first hundred in the IPL.
Here are Yashasvi Jaiswal’s highest scores in the IPL.
124 off 62 balls vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2023
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s whirlwind 124 off 62 balls against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in IPL 2023 is also arguably his best knock. The southpaw’s innings consisted of 16 fours and eight sixes, a total of 112 runs out of 124 scored in boundaries.
At 21 years and 123 days, Jaiswal became the Royals’ youngest centurion and also equalled the highest individual score by a Rajasthan Royals player. His 124 is the highest tally in a single innings by an uncapped player in the IPL to date.
Jaiswal’s one-man show sent the bowlers on a leather hunt but the Royals could not overpower the Mumbai Indians that night as they lost the match by six wickets.
104* off 60 vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2024
Jaiswal led the Royals’ run chase against the Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in IPL 2024, scoring an unbeaten 104 runs in 60 balls. Batting first, MI scored 179/9, restricted by Sandeep Sharma’s 5/18. In the chase, Jaiswal and Jos Buttler opened the innings with the pair adding 74 runs for the first wicket in just eight overs. Jaiswal brought up his fifty in just 31 balls, scoring 10 an over, with 40 of these runs scored in boundaries. The pause in play due to rain didn’t affect the young southpaw’s rhythm. He kept the singles ticking, and occasionally saw the boundary, including a four and a six off a Jasprit Bumrah over. His innings had nine fours and seven sixes, and his runs came at a strike rate of 173.33. The Royals won the match comfortably by nine wickets and eight balls to spare.
98* off 47 balls vs Kolkata Knight Riders, IPL 2023
Eleven days after scoring his maiden ton, Jaiswal nearly added another to his tally. His belligerent unbeaten knock of 98 off just 47 balls guided the Royals to a nine-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata in IPL 2023.
On a pitch where KKR batters struggled to put up a decent score, Jaiswal was coasting through, hitting the bowlers to all corners of the ground. His knock included 12 boundaries and five maximums.
Jaiswal silenced the home crowd with his shot-making, reaching his fifty off just 13 balls, the fastest in the history of IPL.
77 off 43 balls vs Chennai Super Kings, IPL 2023
Three days prior to his maiden century, Jaiswal entertained the home crowd at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur as he notched up 77 runs off 43 balls against the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023.
His knock helped the Royals soar to 202/5, their second-highest total at the SMS Stadium and helped beat CSK by 32 runs. He hit eight fours and four sixes during his knock.
