Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rajasthan Royals’ Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara were spotted sharing a wholesome moment ahead of Day 3 of the second match of India’s 2025 Test series against England on Friday.

Just before the day’s action got underway, Yashasvi Jaiswal was seen sharing a cheerful exchange with Kumar Sangakkara.

Standing near the boundary ropes, the two engaged in a brief conversation before Jaiswal suddenly broke into a joyous leap after being visibly elated by something Sangakkara had said. He went on to throw his arms around the Sri Lankan legend in an impromptu hug.

Sangakkara also shared a warm smile while Dhruv Jurel, who was standing nearby, couldn’t help but laugh at the scene, pointed playfully at Jaiswal’s animated gesture in a wholesome Rajasthan Royals reunion.

One of India’s key performers in the first two games of the five-match Test series against England, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 101 off 144 balls in the first Test and then made 87 from 107 deliveries in the first innings of the ongoing second Test in Birmingham.

Jaiswal was dismissed after making a quickfire 28 off 22 balls in the second innings at Birmingham.

During the knock, he became the joint-fastest to score 2000 Test runs for India, joining Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid and former opener Virender Sehwag after reaching the milestone in 21 matches and 40 innings.

While Dhruv Jurel hasn’t featured in the first two matches against England, he did impress for India A during the two unofficial Tests against England Lions prior to the start of the ongoing Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy.

He registered scores of 94 and 53 not out in the first match before making 52 and 28 in the second.
