Star Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to make his Test debut, as Team India take on the West Indies in the first Test at Dominica on Wednesday.

On the eve of the opening Test, India captain Rohit Sharma in a press conference confirmed the fact that Yashasvi will be opening the batting alongside him, with Shubman Gill slotted in the No.3 position.

Yashasvi's inclusion comes on the back of a solid IPL 2023 season with the Royals, where he amassed a career-best of 625 runs and struck his maiden IPL century. Following the season, he was called up to the Indian Test squad as a standby player for the World Test Championship Final against Australia last month. The 21-year-old has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit as well, with notable performances in the tournaments leading up to the IPL season, and a stunning debut for India A against Bangladesh. Jaiswal has also been included in India's T20I squad for the five-match series against the Windies.
