Sushant Mishra continued to make a strong impact in the Indian domestic circuit by picking up his maiden six-wicket haul in List A cricket for Jharkhand against Tripura in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 on Thursday.
Recruited by Rajasthan Royals at the IPL 2026 auction, the 25-year-old left-armer finished with career-best List A figures of 6/52 in Ahmedabad. He struck early before returning at the death to cap a complete bowling performance.
Sushant Mishra set the tone inside the first five overs, ripping through Tripura’s top order to leave them tottering at 20/3.
He removed Tejasvi Jaiswal and Hrituraj Roy for ducks in the opening over and then sent back Arkaprabha Sinha in the fifth, making full use of the new ball.
Sridam Paul and Rajat Dey went on to rebuild Tripura’s innings with a commanding 258-run stand for the fourth wicket. However, Mishra returned at the death to halt the momentum and help restrict Tripura to 320/10 in 50 overs.

The six-wicket haul takes Mishra’s List A tally to 30 wickets from 16 matches at an average of 25 and an economy rate of 5.65. His impact in the shorter format has been equally striking, having taken 29 scalps in 15 T20 matches at an average of 18.20.
Sushant Mishra’s rise has been one of the standout stories of Jharkhand’s recent success. Last month, he finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, playing a pivotal role in Jharkhand’s maiden SMAT title.
He claimed 22 wickets in 11 SMAT 2025 matches at an average of 17.18.
Hailing from Ranchi, Sushant Mishra honed his skills under the guidance of Rahul David in his formative years and was part of India’s U19 World Cup squad in 2020.
Elsewhere, Rajasthan Royals players Ravindra Jadeja and Aman Rao Perala also produced strong performances for their respective teams in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Representing Saurashtra, Ravindra Jadeja smashed an unbeaten 52 off 39 against Gujarat. Opener Aman Rao Perala scored 60 off 77 for Hyderabad against Jammu and Kashmir.
