Pace spearhead Jofra Archer is all set to make his red-ball return after being named in the England cricket team’s playing XI ahead of the second match of the three-game ENG vs NZ Test 2026 series at The Oval starting on Wednesday.

England head into the contest with a 1-0 lead after securing an 115-run victory in the series opener at Lord's.

Jofra Archer, who was Rajasthan Royals’ top-wicket-taker in IPL 2026 with 25 scalps in 16 games, will be making his first appearance in Test cricket since the third match of the Ashes series between England and Australia last December.

Archer has played 18 Tests for England, picking up 60 wickets at an average of 30.10, including two six-wicket hauls during a breakout 2019 Ashes series.

He also recorded a five-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 5/53 in his last Test appearance against Australia in December.

The third and final Test will be played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, starting on June 25.

Both the second and third matches of the series will start at 3:30 PM IST.
