Sanju Samson’s purple patch with the bat shows no signs of slowing down as he notched up another explosive innings for Kochi in Kerala’s domestic T20 league on Thursday.
The Rajasthan Royals skipper, riding high on a century and an 89 in his previous two matches, smashed 62 off just 37 balls against Trivandrum at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.
His innings, coming at a strike rate of 167.57, featured four boundaries and five sixes, helping Kochi post 191/5 in their 20 overs.
Samson once again took charge of the innings from the start, smashing a boundary off his first ball, a six on the fifth and another boundary to close the first over.
He completed his fifty in 30 balls with a single in the 12th over.
With 110/2 after 13 overs and wickets in hand, Samson targeted Nikhil Thottath and smashed him for a six and a boundary in the 14th over. However, Samson perished in the next over with the scoreboard on 127/3.

This marks Samson’s third consecutive 50-plus score in Kerala’s T20 league - following his 121 off 51 balls and 89 off 46 balls in the previous matches.
The innings underlined the 30-year-old’s destructive form ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE, where he will be part of the Indian squad.
Samson, who leads Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, has represented India in 42 T20Is, scoring 861 runs at a strike rate of 152.38.
His consistency remains the cornerstone of RR’s batting unit - with 4,027 runs in 149 matches, he is the franchise’s all-time leading run-scorer and one of its most successful captains, having guided the Royals to the IPL 2022 final.
