Fresh from his heroics at the U19 World Cup, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi carried his red-hot form into the domestic circuit with a breathtaking batting display in the DY Patil T20 Cup 2026 in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
The teenage sensation smashed a stunning 63 off just 19 balls to lead his team, DY Patil Blue, to a win against the Indian Navy.
Chasing 220 to win, DY Patil Blue needed a flying start and the 14-year-old Sooryavanshi, who represents Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, delivered as he flew to his half-century in just 14 balls.
Vaibhav was eventually dismissed in the seventh over for 63, scored at an astonishing strike rate of 331.58. The knock featured seven fours and five sixes, with boundaries alone accounting for 58 runs.
The knock set up the platform for DY Patil Blue to win the match with five wickets and as many balls to spare.
The DY Patil T20 Cup is a corporate tournament held annually in Navi Mumbai, featuring top domestic players, emerging talents and occasional international stars.
Played at the DY Patil Stadium complex, it serves as a key platform for young cricketers to showcase their skills alongside established professionals.

Earlier this month, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi led India to their sixth U19 World Cup title with a Player of the Series effort in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
He was India’s top scorer in the tournament with 439 runs - only five behind England’s Ben Mayes, who was the tournament’s top scorer.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has been in sensational form across the board since his breakthrough campaign with the Royals in last year’s Indian Premier League, was the difference maker in the final against England, as he scored 175 off 80 balls.
His tally also included half-centuries against Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.
The southpaw has been retained by the Royals for the 2026 IPL season.
