The series will begin with back-to-back matches at the TIO Stadium in Marrara before concluding at the Cazalys Stadium in Westcourt, Cairns.
South Africa will be looking to bounce back after losing in the final of a T20 tri-series to New Zealand in Zimbabwe last month.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius, who was a part of the Rajasthan Royals squad in IPL 2025, struck his maiden T20I fifty and top-scored in the final with 51 off 35 balls against the Kiwis.
Earlier this year, the hard-hitting southpaw announced himself on the international stage by becoming the youngest South African to score a Test century against Zimbabwe.
Pretorius broke the long-standing South African record held by Graeme Pollock, who was 19 years and 317 days old when he scored 122 against Australia in Sydney in 1964.
It also made him just the seventh South African to make a Test hundred on debut and the first since Stephen Cook in 2016.
He went on to make 153 off 160 balls in the knock and also became the youngest player in Test history to make 150 on debut at 19 years and 93 days.
Meanwhile, Kwena Maphaka and Nandre Burger, both of whom were a part of the Rajasthan Royals setup in the IPL last season, will also be eager to make their mark in the series.
Kwena Maphaka, 19, was recently crowned T20 Challenge Player of the Season at the CSA Awards 2024-25 after a stellar campaign in the domestic tournament, which saw him finish as the joint-highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps.
Nandre Burger won the Best Delivery award at the ceremony for his searing ball that removed Mikyle Louis during the second Test against the West Indies in Guyana.
Australia lead the head-to-head record between the two teams in T20Is, having won 17 of the 25 matches played so far. South Africa have won eight times.
