Rajasthan Royals won their second straight match in IPL 2026 after beating Gujarat Titans by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Having beaten Chennai Super Kings handily in their opener, Rajasthan Royals currently top the IPL 2026 standings with four points and a Net Run Rate of +2.233 - the best among all teams so far.

The thriller of a match saw Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiswal score fifties to guide the Royals to a respectable total of 210/6.

With Sai Sudharsan leading the home side’s chase from the front, the Royals looked destined for a loss before a magical spell of 4/41 by Ravi Bishnoi turned the match on its head. Tushar Deshpande also starred with the ball by defending 11 off the final over.

Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada’s fighting eighth-wicket stand threatened to deny the Jaipur side momentarily before Tushar Deshpande defended 10 in the final over to seal a thrilling victory.

Batting first after captain Riyan Parag won the toss for the second straight match, the Royals got off to a flyer.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored a record-breaking 35-ball 100 against GT last season, set the early momentum by hitting Mohammed Siraj for two crisp boundaries in the very first over.

Yashasvi Jaiswal soon joined in as Siraj was put to the sword in his second over as well, with the RR opener smashing two boundaries and a huge six.

Both the openers took the attack to the GT bowlers and got some meaty blows in as RR piled up 69 in the powerplay.

Unfortunately, the partnership was broken in the very next over. Sooryavanshi (31 off 18) was looking set for his second straight fifty of IPL 2026 before he mistimed a Rashid Khan delivery straight to Glenn Phillips at deep midwicket.

Dhruv Jurel then joined up with Jaiswal in the middle and continued to keep the scoreboard ticking. RR crossed the 100-run milestone in the 11th over.

Jaiswal brought up his 16th IPL fifty in just 32 balls but departed soon after mistiming a big swing off Kagiso Rabada.

Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer both got starts but failed to build on the momentum GT clawed their way back into the contest with quick wickets.

Jurel, however, completed his fifth IPL half-century in 30 balls and battled on to score 75 off 42 - his highest score in T20 cricket. The knock propelled RR past 200 as the Royals finished their allotted 20 overs with 210/6.

Despite missing captain and star opener Shubman Gill due to injury, GT made a good start to their chase with Sai Sudharsan leading the charge.

With Kumar Kushagra, Sudharsan put together 78 for the opening wicket before Parag gave his team the all-important breakthrough by dismissing the former in the eighth over. Hetmyer took a brilliant catch.

Sudharsan, however, continued his rampage, racing past his 50.

At 103/1 after nine overs, GT looked like they were running away with the game until a sensational spell by Ravi Bishnoi.

The spinner sent back Sudharsan for 73 in the 10th over to create an opening before stretching it wider by removing Glenn Phillips and Washington Sundar in his second over of the night.

In the process, he also became the youngest Indian bowler to take 200 wickets in T20 cricket.

Nandre Burger lent a helping hand by dismissing the dangerous Jos Buttler before Bishnoi returned to remove Rahul Tewatia from the board. Shahrukh Khan was also run out in the same over thanks to Ravindra Jadeja as GT were reduced to 161/7 after the 15th over.

Stand-in captain Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada put on a 43-run stand to take the match right down to the wire but Tushar Deshpande managed to defend 10 off the final over to seal a second straight victory for RR in IPL 2026.

Rajasthan Royals will face Mumbai Indians in their next IPL 2026 match at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.
