South African pacer Nandre Burger picked up his 100th wicket in T20 cricket during Rajasthan Royals IPL 2026 match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

After Dhruv Jurel scored his highest T20 score to help the Royals to 210/6, the Protea pacer went wicketless in his first two overs in the powerplay.

However, he bowled economically, giving out just 16 runs to keep a lid on GT’s scoring rate despite Sai Sudharsan going on the attack early on.

Reintroduced into the attack by captain Riyan Parag in the 14th over after the RR spinners, led by Ravi Bishnoi, turned the tables and had GT in a stranglehold, Burger helped turn the screws by dismissing the dangerous Jos Buttler with the first ball.

Burger’s delivery climbed on Buttler and forced the Englishman to top edge his attempted pull straight to Sandeep Sharma at fine leg.

The 30-year-old Burger, who has represented South Africa in all three formats of international cricket, also bowled brilliantly in RR’s IPL 2026 opener against Chennai Super Kings.

He dismissed both opposition openers and finished with 2/26 - his best bowling figures in the IPL.

Overall, Burger has now picked up 11 wickets in nine IPL matches.
