Yashasvi Jaisawal walked out as Rajasthan Royalscaptain during the toss against Gujarat Titans ahead of the two teams’ IPL 2026 match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday.

The 24-year-old opener was handed the captain’s role after the Royals’ regular skipper Riyan Parag was ruled out of the match due to a minor hamstring injury sustained during the last game.

Parag will be a big miss for the Jaipur team after he hit form with a brilliant 90 against Delhi Capitals in the Royals’ last outing.

Jaiswal will be donning the captain’s role for the first time for the Royals in his career.

The opening batter is set to become only the eighth player after the legendary Shane Warne, Shane Watson, Rahul Dravid, Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag to lead out the Royals in an Indian Premier League batter.

Jaiswal won the coin toss on his debut as the Royals’ captain and elected to field first.

The match will also be RR’s third annual “Pink Promise Match” - an initiative dedicated to driving women-led transformation across Rajasthan.

As part of the campaign, the Royals will once again take the field in a special all-pink jersey, designed by 19-year-old Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada after her entry was selected from over 8,500 submissions through the Royals HunaRR Manch contest.

Led by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation, the Pink Promise initiative links on-field action with real-world impact: for every six hit during the match, six homes in the Sambhar will be electrified using solar power.

Over the past two editions, the campaign has already helped power 780 homes across underserved communities.
