As much as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi turned heads with his match-winning 93 in Rajasthan Royals’ crucial victory over Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026 on Tuesday, it was his mysterious celebration that sent social media into a frenzy.
After reaching his third fifty of the ongoing season, the 15-year-old seemed to make an ‘A’ sign with both his hands above his head. The gesture immediately had social media sleuths scrambling to uncover the mystery behind the gesture.

All was, however, revealed during the post-match presentation when the teenager was asked the same question and the answer wasn’t what anyone was expecting.
“This was just like that, I didn’t do it thinking of something like this,” the 15-year-old said after RR’s seven-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur. “The celebration I did in the last match didn’t have any meaning either. I just keep trying out some new things like this.”
An entertainer on the field and even off it 😄

Sooryavanshi let his bat do most of the talking at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, smashing a blistering 93 off just 38 balls as Rajasthan Royals chased down 221 with ease.
Opening alongside stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi helped RR raced to 71 without loss in the powerplay before taking complete control of the chase after Jaiswal’s dismissal.
The teenager brought up his fifty in just 23 balls and later became the first Indian batter in IPL history to hit 50 sixes in a single season.

He also shared a match-defining 100-run stand with Dhruv Jurel, who struck his fifth fifty of the campaign, as RR overhauled the target with seven wickets in hand.
Earlier, Mitchell Marsh top-scored for LSG with 96 off 57 deliveries to guide the visitors to 220/5 after Josh Inglis had given them a flying start.
Yash Raj Punia starred with the ball for RR with figures of 2/35, while Jofra Archer’s final over of the innings yielded three wickets, including two run-outs.
The Royals will now face Mumbai Indians in their final league game on Sunday, with a win guaranteeing them a place in the IPL 2026 playoffs.
