How Rajasthan Royals qualified for IPL 2026 playoffs

For Rajasthan Royals to make the IPL 2026 playoffs, the equation was straightforward.

A win against Mumbai Indians in their final league match on May 24 saw the Rajasthan Royals reach 16 points - a tally that secured them the fourth spot and an entry into the IPL 2026 playoffs, where they will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans will qualified as the top two teams.

Historically, 16 points have been the benchmark for playoff qualification in the 10-team IPL era, achieved in the 2022, 2023 and 2025 seasons.

The exception came in 2024, when Royal Challengers Bengaluru sneaked through with 14 points courtesy of a superior Net Run Rate.

Rajasthan Royals have made it to the playoffs seven times to date. They won the title in 2008 and reached the final in 2022.
