Yashasvi Jaiswal has been ranked No. 1 in the list of Best 40 Young Players in the World compiled by prestigious cricket publication Wisden.

Wisden Cricket Monthly released the list last month, drawing on insights from writers and journalists from across the globe.

Players aged 23 or under were assessed not only on their achievements to date but also on their potential impact for their countries across all formats.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has scored over 2000 runs for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, has already established himself as a crucial part of the Indian cricket team despite being just 23 years old.

After making his Test debut with a century against the West Indies in 2023, Yashasvi Jaiswal has gone on to score 2,209 runs in 24 Tests at an average of over 50. The left-handed opener already has six centuries and 12 fifties to his name.

He scored 1478 Test runs at an average of 54.74 and a strike rate of almost 70 last year, which was the most by any Indian in 2024 and the most by an Indian opener ever in a single calendar year.

His exploits earned him a place in the ICC Men's Test Team of the Year 2024.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has also proved his worth in the T20I format for India and has scored 723 runs in 23 outings. He has also played one ODI for the Men in Blue.

Jaiswal is one of the five Rajasthan Royals players in Wisden’s list.

South African duo Lhuan-dre Pretorius (ranked fifth) and Kwena Maphaka (eighth) have been making waves for the Proteas in international cricket this year.

Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, meanwhile, ranks 16th. The 14-year-old announced himself on the global stage with a breakout IPL season with the Royals this year and has continued to impress in the Indian U19 setup.

Riyan Parag also makes the list at No. 27. He was the stand-in captain for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025.
