Dasun Shanaka delivered a Player of the Match-winning performance as the Sri Lanka cricket team registered a 37-run victory in the second game of the three-match WI vs SL T20 2026 series against West Indies at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, on Saturday.
Shanaka, who represented Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, smashed a 24-ball 58 at a stunning strike rate of 241.66. He brought up his fifty off 19 balls, equalling his own record for the fastest fifty in T20Is.
He struck five fours and four sixes during his rapid fifty against the Windies in the second match of the series.

After walking into bat with Sri Lanka on 88/4, Dasun Shanaka went on to stitch together a 103-run stand off just 42 balls with Kamil Mishara to help propel his side to a solid total of 194/6 at the end of their 20 overs.
Dasun Shanaka took a few balls to get his eye in before unleashing an assault on Roston Chase in the 14th over by smashing a couple of sixes and a boundary to ignite Sri Lanka’s innings.
The Sri Lankan all-rounder continued to find the boundary with ease, peppering the ropes with fours and sixes before raising a blistering fifty off just 19 balls with another maximum in the penultimate over of the innings.
He added another boundary after reaching his fifty before falling in the final over, having already done the damage with a crucial knock that propelled Sri Lanka to a formidable total.
Shanaka’s knock helped Sri Lanka level the three-match series 1-1 after the Lankans lost the opening game by seven wickets.
The 34-year-old all-rounder is currently the top-scorer in the T20 series, having amassed 80 runs in two matches at an average of 40 and a strike rate of 170.21.
The final match of the series will take place at the same venue on Sunday.
