Vaibhav Sooryavanshi rewrote not one but two more Indian Premier League records during Rajasthan Royals IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday

The teenager became the youngest player to reach 500 IPL runs and also the quickest to the mark - by balls faced - in the competition’s history.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, just 15 years and 26 days old, brought up the milestone with a perfectly timed leg glance off his pads.

He reached the 500-run milestone in just 227 balls - 33 deliveries fewer than the previous record-holder, Glenn Maxwell.

The Rajasthan Royals opener surpassed Prithvi Shaw, who had reached 500 IPL runs aged 19 years and 164 days, to become the youngest to the mark.

Former RR captain Sanju Samson is the third-youngest to 500 IPL runs, reaching the milestone in 19 years and 195 days.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who is Rajasthan Royals’ top-scorer in IPL 2026 with 254 runs, has scored two fifties this season.

Both his half-centuries came off just 15 balls, making them the joint third-fastest in IPL fifties.

Overall, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has scored 506 runs in 14 matches at an average of 38.92 and a stunning strike rate of 217.17.

His highest score of 101 off 38 balls came against Gujarat Titans in his debut season last year.

The hard-hitting left-hander’s 35-ball ton against GT was also the fastest by any Indian player in IPL history and the second-fastest overall.
