Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has emerged as India’s most-searched personality, according to Google’s Year in Search 2025 report.

The 14-year-old prodigy, who represents Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), also ranked sixth globally under the People category - the highest for any sportsperson this year.

Google described him as: “A teenage phenomenon. The cricket sensation took the world by storm, emerging as the No. 1 trending personality of 2025 (in India).”

Sooryavanshi’s meteoric rise has been one of the biggest sporting storylines of the year globally.

His record-shattering IPL debut season with Rajasthan Royals - from smashing a six off his first ball to scoring a 35-ball century and earning the Super Striker of the Season award - catapulted him into global attention.

What followed was a historic campaign across age-group cricket, becoming the fastest batter to score a century in Youth ODIs in the process and proving his IPL stint was not a one-off.

His performances have continued to grow. Earlier this week, the teenager hit an unbeaten 108 off 61 balls for Bihar against Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Kolkata - becoming the youngest player to score a century in the tournament’s history.

Last month, Instagram chose to spotlight Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s journey on its official page - making him only the second Indian cricketer after Virat Kohli to receive the honour.

The platform spent a day with him at the Rajasthan Royals Academy, capturing his life beyond the scoreboard and showcasing the personality behind the performances.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has also been named in India’s squad for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025, which starts in Dubai on December 12.
