Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his record-breaking spree in IPL 2026 as he became the first Indian cricketer to hit 50 sixes in a single Indian Premier League edition during Rajasthan Royals’ match against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday.
With RR chasing a daunting 220 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in a do-or-die situation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again delivered under pressure as he scored a blistering 93 off 38 balls to set up a Royals win.
He hit an astonishing 10 sixes during his knock to become the first Indian to smash 50 maximums in a single IPL season. The 15-year-old had started the match with 43 sixes this season.
Currently, he has 53 sixes to his name with the milestone hit coming off Mayank Yadav in the 11th over.
Having dispatched the LSG bowler over long off in the previous delivery, Vaibhav cleared the midwicket boundary comfortably to bring up his half-century of sixes this season.
