Rajasthan Royals' Riyan Parag on Friday etched his name in T20 cricket history during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023 clash against Kerala. Parag's blazing 33-ball-57* not only steered Assam to a thrilling two-wicket victory but also marked a remarkable milestone.

Riyan became the first-ever player to achieve the feat of scoring six consecutive fifties in T20 cricket.

In the ongoing SMAT 2023, the Assam skipper has been a force to be reckoned with, amassing a total of 440 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 62.86. His leadership on the field and exceptional batting prowess have been instrumental in guiding Assam to victories, including the recent triumph against a formidable Kerala side that had yet to face defeat in the tournament.

Entering the crease at a challenging 48/3, the 21-year-old showcased his composure and skill, steering the chase with finesse. As the innings progressed, he unleashed a flurry of boundaries, including four sixes, securing the win with three balls to spare at the Sharad Pawar Indoor Cricket Academy in Mumbai.

This remarkable achievement follows Riyan's earlier feat of scoring five consecutive half-centuries, aligning him with cricket luminaries like Virender Sehwag, Devon Conway, Hamilton Masakadza, Kamran Akmal, Jos Buttler, David Warner, and Wayne Madsen.
