Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2025 season after fracturing his finger during the home game against the Gujarat Titans on Monday.
The announcement was made ahead of the Rajasthan Royals match against the Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday.
Sandeep sustained the injury while bravely attempting to stop a powerful drive from Shubman Gill off his own bowling. The 31-year-old right-arm pacer completed the final eight deliveries of his spell before undergoing scans that confirmed the fracture.
Clapping for this warrior who fractured his finger but still put his body on the line to complete his spell for the team! 💗

The Rajasthan Royals’ 2025 season has been marred by injuries to key players.
Regular skipper Sanju Samson, who began the season as an Impact Player due to a finger injury, returned to lead the side after regaining full match fitness.
He had scored 224 runs in seven outings at an impressive average of 37.33 and a strike rate of 143.59 before a side strain, sustained during the Super Over clash against Delhi Capitals, forced him to miss subsequent matches.
The Royals, meanwhile, are looking to build momentum in the final stretch of the league phase. They are currently eighth on the table with six points from 10 matches and need to win all of their remaining games to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
