Jofra Archer created history by becoming the leading wicket-taker for the Rajasthan Royals during their 40-run win against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026 on Wednesday.

The right-arm pacer picked up three wickets to become the Royals’ all-time leading wicket-taker with 68 scalps from 54 matches. He finished the match with figures of 3/20.

Defending 159, Archer picked up Aiden Markram’s wicket in the third over before returning to clean up Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan in the 18th to secure the win for RR.

The 31-year-old pacer’s spell against LSG saw him break the record for most wickets taken by a Royals player, surpassing former RR captain Shane Watson’s 67 scalps for the franchise.

Unlike Jofra Archer, who has taken all his wickets for Royals in the IPL, six of Shane Watson’s scalps for the franchise came in the Champions League T20.

Jofra Archer also tops the wickets charts for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL after surpassing Yuzvendra Chahal, who previously held the record with 66 scalps for the franchise.

Archer has had two separate stints with RR, first from 2018 to 2020 and then again from 2025 onwards.

His 68 wickets for the Royals have come at an average of 23.69 and an economy of 7.74. His best spell with RR came in the 2019 season when he finished with figures of 3/15 against Kings XI Punjab.

Overall, Archer has taken 70 wickets in 59 IPL matches, He played five matches for Mumbai Indians in the 2023 campaign and picked up two wickets.

The English pacer’s standout season came in 2020, when he claimed 20 wickets at an average of 18.25 and an economy of 6.55 for the Royals, finishing as the Most Valuable Player for the Season that year.

Jofra Archer also equalled the record for most first-ball wickets in the IPL during the Royals’ match against Kolkata Knight Riders last week.
