Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel were named in the Indian cricket team’s Test squad for their two-match series against world champions South Africa, starting on November 14.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member Test squad on Wednesday.
The first India vs South Africa 2025 Test cricket match will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and the second will be held at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. The matches will begin at 9:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel - both integral parts of the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League - have been impressive for the national side in red-ball cricket this year. Both players also scored centuries for India in the two-match series against the West Indies.
Against the West Indies, Jaiswal, India’s top-ranked batter in Test cricket at world No. 5, made 175 in the second match for his seventh century in the longest format. He finished as the top scorer in the series with 219 runs at an average of 73.
He will head into the series against South Africa after scoring 156 off 174 balls in the second innings and a fighting 67 in the first for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 clash against Rajasthan.
Dhruv Jurel will go into the series against the Proteas having hit a maiden Test ton for India in the first match against the West Indies. He scored 125 off 210 balls.
Earlier this summer, Jurel piled up 227 runs at an average of 75.66, hitting three half-centuries in four innings during the India A team’s tour of England.
He also scored a century against Australia A in a multi-day match at home last month and made 56 while captaining the team to victory in the second game of the series.
Meanwhile, Riyan Parag has also earned a call-up to India A’s squad for a three-match one-day series against South Africa A, starting from November 13.
The second and third matches of the series are on November 16 and 19, respectively, with all games scheduled to start at 1:30 PM IST at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
Parag was last seen in action for Assam in the Ranji Trophy and registered career-best bowling figures of 5/25 in first-class cricket during the team’s second match of the tournament.
