At 22 years and 37 days, Jaiswal became the third youngest Indian batter to have achieved this feat, with former cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Vinod Kambli leading the list. Jaiswal went to stumps on Day 1 unbeaten on 179, his highest score in Tests. He returned on Day 2 with renewed vigour alongside Royals teammate Ravichandran Ashwin for company. Playing in his trademark fashion, Jaiswal got to his double hundred in the first session with a boundary.
