Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been called up to the Indian team in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, it was announced on Saturday. The Royals plce replaces all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is set to miss the remainder of the tournament due to injury.

Pandya injured his ankle in India's match against Bangladesh, and has since then been working on his rehabilitation process. However, the 30-year-old could not recover in time to come back into the Indian squad.

Answering the call to action, Prasidh Krishna, known for his promising pace, steps into the squad, approved by the Event Technical Committee. With just 19 white-ball appearances, Krishna brings youthful energy and a hunger for success.
