Among the standout speedsters of IPL 2025, Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer stood tall, delivering two of the fastest balls in the league stage this season.
Archer’s quickest - a scorching 152.3 kmph rocket - came during the Royals’ clash against Gujarat Titans at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on April 9.
In the very first over, Archer unleashed a short-pitched ball that left Sai Sudharsan stunned. However, the ball went to the boundary following a top edge.
Archer returned to bowl the third over and cleaned up Shubman Gill with a 147 kmph peach on the first ball. Jofra Archer ended the match with figures of 1/30 from four overs.
Archer’s ability to consistently hit around 150kmph on the speedgun made him a standout performer and a crucial weapon in the Royals’ attack.
The 30-year-old pacer also claimed the fifth spot on the list of quickest deliveries in IPL 2025 with a 151.3 kmph thunderbolt against the Punjab Kings on April 5 in New Chandigarh. He took 3/25 in the match, including the scalp of Priyansh Arya off the first ball of the innings before castling Shreyas Iyer with the last ball of the over.
Since his IPL debut in 2018, Archer has played 47 matches, snaring 57 wickets at an average under 25 with an economy of 7.71. In IPL 2025, he claimed 11 wickets from 12 matches.
Lockie Ferguson’s 153.2 kmph delivery for Punjab Kings against Lucknow Super Giants on April 1 is the fastest ball in the IPL 2025 so far.
Interestingly, the record for the fastest ball bowled in the IPL belongs to Rajasthan Royals’ Shaun Tait, whose blistering 157.71 kmph thunderbolt came in 2011 against his countryman Aaron Finch, who was playing for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).

Whether it’s in Rajasthan pink or England white, Archer’s lightning pace has the ability to rattle batters irrespective of the format.
Making his England debut in May 2019, just ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup, Archer quickly became a cornerstone of England’s title-winning campaign.
His nerve in the Super Over against New Zealand sealed a historic win, and his tournament tally of 20 wickets in 11 matches made him England’s top wicket-taker in the tournament.
A month later, Archer made his Test debut in the Ashes series at Lord’s. His searing pace, regularly touching 150 kmph, unsettled Australia’s batters and established him as one of the most dangerous pacers in the world.
