Kwena Maphaka and Lhuan-dre Pretorius are part of the South Africa cricket team for the upcoming three-match 2025 ODI series against Australia, scheduled from August 19 to 24.
Both Maphaka and Pretorius were in the Rajasthan Royals squad for IPL 2025.

The series will start with the first ODI at the Cazalys Stadium in Cairns. The next two matches are scheduled at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.
Having lost a closely-fought T20I series 2-1 to the Aussies coming into the 50-over engagement, the Proteas will hope for a better showing.
Maphaka, in particular, was impressive during the T20 matches and finished as the highest wicket-taker of the series with nine scalps.
The tally included a 4/20 in the first match, which happens to be the young Protea quick’s career best figures in the shortest format. The 19-year-old also became the youngest bowler from a full member cricket nation to take four wickets in a T20I match.
He also picked up 3/57 in the second match and 2/36 in the third. The performances saw Maphaka being added to the Protea squad for the ODI series despite not being named in the initial 16-member setup.
Maphaka, who was recently crowned ODI Challenge Player of the Season at the CSA Awards 2024-25, made his debut in the 50-over format in December last year against Pakistan and registered figures of 4/72 in Cape Town.
He also picked up a wicket in the next game of the series played days later in Johannesburg, but hasn’t played an ODI since.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius, meanwhile, will be hoping for an ODI debut after a sensational start to his international career earlier this year.
Pretorius etched his name into the record books by becoming the youngest South African to score a Test century, surpassing Graeme Pollock’s long-standing mark, after scoring a 153 against Zimbabwe on his international debut.
The ton not only made the 19-year-old just the seventh South African to score a hundred on debut - and the first since Stephen Cook in 2016 - but also the youngest player in Test history to reach 150 in his maiden match.
The hard-hitting southpaw also made his T20I bow last month and scored his maiden half-century in the format against New Zealand in the final of a tri-nation series involving the Kiwis and Zimbabwe.
South Africa lead the head-to-head record against Australia 55-51 in ODIs. The two teams have played against each other 110 times.
