While 23-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal has played just one ODI match for India, Dhruv Jurel, 24, has earned his maiden ODI call-up for the Australia series

The three-match Australia vs India ODI series begins at the Perth Stadium on October 19, followed by games at the Adelaide Oval on October 23 and the Sydney Cricket Ground on October 25.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel - both part of the Rajasthan Royals set-up in IPL 2025 - were last seen in action for India during the two-match Test series against West Indies.
A mainstay in the Indian Test side since his debut two years back, Yashasvi finished as the top-scorer during the Test series against the West Indies with 219 runs at an average of 73. He also struck 175 in the second Test played in Delhi.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was the top scorer for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025 with 559 runs from 14 matches, returns to the ODI setup after making his 50-over debut for the Men in Blue earlier this year in February.
Dhruv Jurel, meanwhile, hit his maiden Test ton for India in the first Test against the West Indies earlier this month. He scored 125 off 210 balls in Ahmedabad to add to a string of fine performances this year.
Earlier this summer, Jurel piled up 227 runs at an average of 75.66, hitting three half-centuries in four innings during the India A team’s tour of England.
He also scored a century against Australia A in a multi-day match at home last month and made 56 while captaining the team to victory in the second game of the series.
In terms of the head-to-head in the ODIs, Australia hold the upper hand, having won 84 of the 152 matches between the teams in the format. India have won 58 times while 10 matches have ended with no results.
After the conclusion of the ODI series, which will also see the return of legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, India will face Australia in five T20Is. Sanju Samson is in the T20 squad for the Australia series.
