The BCCI on Monday named an 18-member India squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 starting on August 30. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, Team India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their tournament opener on September 2 at Pallekele. Bangladesh and Nepal are the other two participating teams who will be vying for the ultimate trophy.

Among the 18 players named in the squad is Rajasthan Royals pacer Prasidh Krishna, who recently returned to competitive cricket after being sidelined due to injury. The fast bowler is currently part of the Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian team playing a T20I series against Ireland. Prasidh has already picked 4 wickets in 2 games, and looks in good shape after having worked extensively on his match fitness and form leading up to the tournament. This is the first time he will be part of India's Asia Cup campaign.
