Both Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ravi Bishnoi come into the series having helped India win gold at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan. Sooryavanshi, at 15, also became the country’s youngest gold medal winner at the multisport continental meet.
The young opener also showcased good touch with the bat in the preceding bilateral series against Zimbabwe, slamming two fifties and becoming the youngest player to score a T20 half-century in international cricket.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already scored 246 runs in eight T20I outings and will hope to add to the tally substantially against the Windies on home turf.
Ravi Bishnoi, who made his T20I debut against West Indies, has scalped 71 wickets in 54 matches since. Interestingly, 11 of these have come against the Windies in just seven games - his best record against any international opponent.
West Indies, who lost the preceding three-match ODI series 2-1 to India, will welcome back T20 specialist Shimron Hetmyer to the squad for the short-format series.
Shimron Hetmyer has scored 422 runs in 20 games against India, making the Men in Blue his favourite opponents to play against. Overall, the Windies heavy-hitter has scored 1678 runs in the shortest format in 85 matches.
The 29-year-old Hetmyer has been in good form as well and recently slammed an unbeaten century in a T20 league in the Caribbean last month.
India vs West Indies T20 head-to-head
India hold a commanding edge over the West Indies in the shortest international format, winning 20 of their meetings in men's T20Is to the West Indies' 10.
