Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag was named vice-captain of the India A cricket team for the ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka scheduled next month. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member squad on Thursday.

Riyan Parag’s Rajasthan Royals teammates Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yudhvir Singh have also been included in the 15-member squad.

The tri-series, featuring A sides from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and India, will be held in Dambulla from June 9 to 21.

Each team will play the other two sides twice in the round-robin stage, with the top two teams advancing to the final. All matches will be played at the same venue.

Riyan Parag, who has represented India in international white-ball cricket and is serving as RR’s captain in IPL 2026, has played 55 List A matches, scoring 1,947 runs at an average of 41.42 and a strike rate of 104.06.

Vaibhav, part of the Indian A team at the Asia Cup Rising Stars last year, has played eight matches in the format, averaging 44.12 at a strike rate of 164.95.

Playing for India A against the UAE last year, Vaibhav blasted 144 off 42 in the Rising Stars Asia Cup, becoming the youngest man to hit a century for a national representative side at the senior level.

He has showcased brilliant form in the IPL this campaign and is RR’s top scorer with 440 runs in 11 matches. The tally includes a century and two fifties.

Pacer Yudhvir Singh, meanwhile, has claimed 28 wickets in 23 List A matches. His best of 4/54 came for Jammu and Kashmir against Nagaland in the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Following the tri-series, India A will play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A in Galle. The squad for the red-ball fixtures will be announced later.
