Dhruv Jurel’s instinctive stumping of Cameron Green during the Rajasthan RoyalsIPL 2026 clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Sunday has taken the internet by storm.

Ravi Bishnoi, who is Rajasthan Royals’ top wicket-taker in IPL 2026, fired one down the leg side as Green advanced in the fifth over.

The ball spun sharply past the batter, presenting a difficult take for Jurel, who, while still off balance and his momentum taking him away from the wickets, managed to flick the ball back onto the stumps with one hand.

The moment has since captured the internet’s attention. Yet, when asked about the reaction, Jurel remained characteristically grounded.

“I have not seen anything on the internet yet. But if people are saying that, then I appreciate that,” Jurel said after the match.

“There is always a dream that you pull off something different in a match. And that happened today. Although we lost the match, I am grateful that I did something like that.”

The breakthrough proved crucial in the context of the chase. With both openers already back for ducks, Green’s dismissal left KKR at 37/3.

Jurel credited the dismissal to staying alert and putting in the work behind the scenes.

“(Ravi) Bishnoi picked up on the fact that he (Green) was stepping out and he tried to bowl out of his range on the leg side. Whether it is leg side or offside, there is always a blind spot for the wicket-keeper. It's not easy because the batsman is standing right in front. That's distracting as a keeper. I practice for that every day and I have a full routine for my keeping.”

Jurel also underlined his balanced approach to the game, placing equal value on contributions with both bat and gloves.

“The hard work I put into my batting, I do the same with my wicket-keeping. Because some days you will do well in batting. Some days you will do well in wicket-keeping. Some days it will be both. Some days it will be none. I try to ensure that if I haven't contributed with the bat, I contribute in another way. So I am grateful that I contributed with my wicket-keeping.”

The effort drew widespread acclaim, with Sachin Tendulkar calling it “magnificent” and Kevin Pietersen terming it “the greatest stumping”.

Jurel’s composure behind the stumps has been noted before. Former Royals skipper Ajinkya Rahane - who led KKR in the contest - had praised his temperament during India’s tour of England last year, highlighting his ability to step up in demanding conditions.
