Ravindra Jadeja continued his strong red-ball form with a century for Saurashtra in their opening Ranji Trophy 2026-27 match against Chhattisgarh at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Monday.

The veteran all-rounder struck a patient 102 off 209 balls, hitting seven fours to help the Saurashtra cricket team post 392.

Walking in during the 41st over after Saurashtra lost two quick wickets to slip to 120/3, Jadeja steadied the innings and helped the hosts recover from a potentially precarious position.

The left-handed batter got off the mark with a boundary before reaching his fifty in the 78th over. He combined with Prerak Mankad for a 205-run partnership that lifted Saurashtra from 151/4 to 356/5.

Ravindra Jadeja, part of the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, ended the opening day unbeaten on 72, leaving Saurashtra well placed at stumps.

Resuming on the second day, he struck two more fours before bringing up his century with a single in the 110th over. However, he was caught and bowled by Dharmendrasinh Jadeja in the following over as Saurashtra's innings came to an end at 392.

The century was Jadeja's 16th in first-class cricket. He has now amassed 8504 runs at an average of 44.75 in first-class cricket, with his highest score of 331 coming against Railways in the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy season.

One of India's most consistent performers in red-ball cricket in recent years, Jadeja also scored a century against the West Indies and a fifty against South Africa during India's home Test assignments in 2025.

The 37-year-old all-rounder has amassed 4160 runs in 91 Tests for India at an average of 37.81, including six centuries and 28 half-centuries.

He is also the fifth highest wicket-taker in Indian cricket history having taken 356 scalps at an average of 25.30.
