Rajasthan Royals’ wait for their first win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in IPL 2026 continued as the team lost to Delhi Capitals by seven wickets in Jaipur on Friday.
Riyan Parag stepped up and was the team’s top-scorer with 90 off 50 balls, helping the Royals post 226/5. However, a record-breaking chase helped the Capitals win the match.
The result kept RR fourth on the IPL 2026 points table with six wins from 10 matches.
Chasing 226 to win, DC got off to a flying start with Pathum Nissanka racing to a fifty alongside KL Rahul as the openers guided their team to 70/0 at the end of the powerplay before crossing the 100-run mark in the ninth over.
However, Ravindra Jadeja struck in the very next over, trapping Pathum Nissanka LBW and giving the Royals a much-needed breakthrough.
Nitish Rana chipped in with a brisk cameo, scoring 33 off 17 balls and adding 61 runs for the second wicket with KL Rahul. However, Tushar Deshpande struck to remove Rana, offering RR a glimmer of hope.
Jofra Archer removed KL Rahul in the next over to put the spanner in the works, leaving DC with two new batters at the crease to chase down 49 off 28 balls.
The English pacer almost engineered a thrilling finish as he conceded just five off his first five balls in the penultimate over but Stubbs managed a boundary off the final ball to leave DC with five to get in the final six balls.
Ashutosh Sharma helped the Delhi Capitals over the line and register their highest-ever successful run chase in IPL history.
