Marcus Levermore brings a lifelong love of sport and adventure to everything he does. Raised in a lively family of eight, he developed a passion for competition, teamwork, and travel early on. His journey has taken him across Asia, North America, and Australasia before settling in Saudi Arabia, where he has lived for the past three years. Away from work, Marcus is a proud father of two daughters who keeps life, as he puts it, “busy, fun, and full of adventure.”
Cricket has always been part of Marcus’s story. Growing up, summer meant backyard matches with his brother, complete with a few broken windows and test matches playing on TV. “Those long afternoons taught me more than technique. They taught me patience, humility, and how sport can bring people together.” Over time, playing and coaching junior cricket across several continents deepened his appreciation for the game’s ability to unite communities - a spirit he’s found again in NEOM.
As a Group Leader in the NEOM x Rajasthan Royals Community Cricket Tournament, Marcus has embraced the chance to give back. “Being involved since the first season, as a player, umpire, and scorer, has been a privilege. Rajasthan Royals have been an ideal partner, supporting grassroots cricket growth through expertise and inclusivity.” Through the partnership, cricket has also become a family affair, with his daughters now playing cricket in the NEOM Community School.
For Marcus, cricket provides the balance that modern life demands. He values not only playing but also mentoring new participants and supporting the development of the women’s game. Watching players grow in confidence, he says, “is what makes it all worthwhile.”
“Watching my daughters play cricket in NEOM reminds me that cricket’s real magic is how it brings people together.”
