Pakistan ODI Tri-Series 2026: Dasun Shanaka in action

All-rounder Dasun Shanaka, part of Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, will be in the spotlight when the Sri Lanka cricket team compete in the Pakistan ODI Tri-Series 2026, starting in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

The Lankans will square off against hosts Pakistan and England in the ODI tri-series, with all matches scheduled to start live at 1:30 PM IST.

The seven-match ODI tri-series will feature six league matches, with each team facing the other two sides twice, followed by the final. The first three fixtures will be played in Rawalpindi before the tournament moves to Lahore for its conclusion.

Dasun Shanaka will be eager to make his presence felt in the tri-series, having already enjoyed some explosive outings against Pakistan this year.

At the T20 World Cup 2026, Shanaka smashed an unbeaten 76 off just 31 balls, hitting eight sixes as Sri Lanka came within five runs of chasing down Pakistan's 212/8 in Pallekele.

Earlier in January, he struck 34 off only nine balls in the third T20I in Dambulla as Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 14 runs to level the rain-affected three-match series 1-1.

Shanaka also heads into the Pakistan tour following an impressive run in franchise cricket.

In September, he hammered an unbeaten 121 off 43 balls in the Caribbean, an innings featuring eight fours and 12 sixes.

The Sri Lankan all-rounder also claimed three wickets in the final match of the recent three-match T20I series against Pakistan and will hope to make his presence felt with both bat and ball in the upcoming tri-series.

Pakistan are fifth in the men’s ODI rankings, while England and Sri Lanka are sixth and seventh, respectively.
