The South African men’s cricket team will play a two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, starting June 28 at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
Both matches in the ZIM vs SA 2025 Test series will be played at the same venue, with live streaming available in India. Play is scheduled to begin daily at 1:30 PM IST.
Fresh off their historic ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final win over Australia, the Proteas will field a new-look squad in Bulawayo.
Kwena Maphaka and Lhuan-dre Pretorius, both of whom represent the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, are in the squad and have been named in the starting XI for the first Test.
Maphaka, 19, made his Test debut earlier this year against Pakistan, returning figures of 2/43 and 1/47 in Newlands. He will be playing his second red-ball international against Zimbabwe, which will also be his first away Test match.
With the experienced Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi being rested for the series, Kwena Maphaka will be expected to spearhead the Proteas’ pace attack in the match.

The talented pacer played two matches for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. Against the Punjab Kings, he dismissed Mitchell Owen for a duck to give the Rajasthan Royals an early breakthrough.
Also named in the XI for the first Test is Lhuan-dre Pretorius, another 19-year-old, who will be making his international debut for South Africa.
The stylish right-hander has been in red-hot form in first-class cricket, scoring three centuries in just seven matches at an average of 60.62. Pretorius was also South Africa’s leading run-scorer at the ICC U19 World Cup 2024.
Keshav Maharaj will lead the South African team in the absence of regular skipper Temba Bavuma, who is out injured. Zimbabwe, meanwhile, will be captained by veteran batter Craig Ervine.
