Here’s a list of the records he created during the knock:

Third-fastest IPL century

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reached his hundred off just 36 balls with a six off Sakib Hussain. It was the third-fastest century in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Chris Gayle holds the record for the fastest ton in the competition’s history with a 30-ball 100.

Sooryavanshi himself smashed the second-fastest and the quickest by an Indian against Gujarat Titans last year, when he got to the three-figure mark in just 35 balls.

Youngest to score T20 1000 runs

Having started the match on 955 runs in 25 T20 matches, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, at the age of 15 years and 29 days, became the youngest player to reach 1000 runs in T20 cricket after reaching 45.

He already holds the record for the youngest player to play in a T20 match and also the youngest to score a century in the format.

Joint-fastest IPL fifty this season

Sooryavanshi reached his fifty in the match in just 15 balls - the joint-fastest this season. Overall, there have been four 15-ball half-centuries in IPL 2026 and Sooryavanshi himself has accounted for three. Abhishek Sharma scored the other one.

Fewest matches taken to score four T20 hundreds

This was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s fourth T20 hundred in his 26th match, making him the fastest to the mark.

Usman Khan (33 matches), B Sai Sudharsan (72 matches), Chris Gayle (77 matches) and Michael Klinger (88 matches) are next on the list.

Sixth player to score multiple centuries for Rajasthan Royals

With the 100, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi became only the sixth player to score multiple centuries for Rajasthan Royals.

Jos Buttler, with seven, has the most while Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Rahane, Shane Watson and Sanju Samson have two each.

Fastest to 1000 T20 runs by balls faced

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also became the fastest to 1000 T20 runs in terms of balls faced, getting there in just 473 deliveries. He surpassed Mitchell Owen (533 balls), with Andrew Symonds (558) next on the list.

Most sixes in an IPL innings by Indian

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 12 sixes against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday are now the most by an Indian in an IPL innings. He moved past the previous best of 11 sixes, achieved by Murali Vijay for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals in 2010 - a mark Sooryavanshi himself had equalled with an 11-sixes blitz for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans in 2025. Sanju Samson’s 10 sixes for Rajasthan Royals against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2018 is the next best on the list.

First player to score two IPL hundreds under 40 balls

With two sub-40 ball hundreds to his name in the IPL, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also became the first to achieve the feat. Overall, only eight players in the history of the competition have scored a hundred in 40 deliveries or less.
