Shimron Hetmyer continued his impressive form in the T20 league in the Caribbean with an unbeaten 102 off just 45 balls for Guyana against Jamaica in Qualifier 2 on Friday.
Hetmyer, who plays for theRajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, walked in at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown with Guyana under pressure at 20/2 in the fifth over.
The left-hander joined Shai Hope and quickly went on to turn the momentum, with the pair putting on 96 runs for the third wicket.
Hetmyer raced to his fifty in just 20 balls, having struck two fours and five sixes by the time he reached his half-century.
Hope's dismissal ended the partnership, but Shimron Hetmyer continued his assault alongside Quentin Sampson, who contributed 29 off 17 deliveries in a 65-run fourth-wicket stand.
Hetmyer entered the final over in the 90s and then reached his century off the last ball of the innings. After smashing Andre Russell for a six to move to 98, he found the boundary off the final delivery to complete a 45-ball hundred.
The 29-year-old Shimron Hetmyer finished unbeaten on 102, having struck four fours and eight sixes at a strike rate of 226.66, as Guyana posted 206/4 from their 20 overs.
It was Shimron Hetmyer's second century of the season, following his unbeaten 111 off 43 balls against Trinbago in Port of Spain last month, and the third T20 hundred of his career.
The innings took Shimron Hetmyer to 7277 runs from 360 T20 matches at an average of 26.75 and a strike rate of 145.45. All three of his T20 centuries have come in the same tournament.
The hard-hitting left-hander has also been in impressive form for the West Indies this year. He scored 248 runs in seven matches at the 2026 T20 World Cup at an average of 41.33 and a strike rate of 186.47.
Hetmyer has been a key part of the Rajasthan Royals' middle order since joining the franchise in 2022 and has regularly been entrusted with the finishing role.
Across five seasons with the Royals, Hetmyer has scored 1043 IPL runs in 63 matches at a strike rate of 148.36.
