Sam Curran has been named in England’s squads for the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, scheduled to be played across Colombo and Kandy from January 22 to February 3.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the squads for the three-match ODI and three-match T20I series on Tuesday.

Sam Curran, part of the Rajasthan Royals squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season, is a key player in England’s white-ball set-up.

Since making his international debut in 2018, the left-handed all-rounder has featured in 64 T20Is, picking up 57 wickets at an average of 27.43. With the bat, he has scored 450 runs at an average of 17.30 and a strike rate of 131.57.

Curran was England’s standout performer at the T20 World Cup 2022, earning both the Player of the Match award in the final and the Player of the Tournament honour.

In the ODI format, Curran has scored 637 runs from 38 matches at an average of 23.59 and a strike rate of 89.09, while also claiming 35 wickets.

In the IPL, the 27-year-old has played 64 matches, scoring 997 runs and taking 59 wickets, underlining his value as a dependable all-round option.

All three matches in the SL vs ENG ODI 2026 series will be played at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium on January 22, 24 and 27.

The SL vs ENG T20I 2026 series will be staged at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy, with matches scheduled for January 30, February 1 and 3.

Fast bowler Jofra Archer, who was the Rajasthan Royals’ joint highest wicket-taker in IPL 2025, will miss the Sri Lanka tour as he continues his rehabilitation following the left-side strain sustained earlier this month during the third Ashes Test.

However, Archer has been named alongside Curran in England’s provisional squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, set to be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
