Middle-order batter Shubham Dubey has earned a maiden call-up to the Vidarbha senior men's team for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2023-24. The VCA's Senior Selection Committee met on Thursday to announce the squad that will be led by Akshay Wadkar, with Aditya Sarvate assuming vice-captaincy duties.

Shubham, a left-handed hard-hitting batter hailing from Yavatmal, was recently in the news for being picked up by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024 auction. The 29-year-old was in supreme form at this year's Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, finishing as Vidarbha's highest run-getter with an explosive match-winning fifty in his team's highest-ever run chase.
